AAA Animal Hospital is seeking a highly skilled, experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our fast-paced and collaborative veterinary team.
We are looking for an RVT who is confident in advanced technical skills, capable of working independently, and committed to providing exceptional patient care. This position is ideal for an experienced RVT who wants to fully utilize their training, skills, and clinical knowledge in a high-quality medical environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Current California RVT license required and be in good standing with the Veterinary Medical Board
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on clinical experience preferred
- Strong anesthesia and surgical monitoring experience
- Advanced venipuncture and IV catheter placement skills
- Experience with dental procedures
- Ability to perform accurate patient assessments and monitoring
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia protocols, medications, and emergency procedures
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
Technical Skills & Experience Required:
- Induction, monitoring, and recovery of surgical patients
- Monitoring ECG, SPO2, ETCO2, blood pressure, and temperature during anesthesia
- Dental prophylaxis and dental charting
- Full-mouth dental radiograph acquisition
- Surgical preparation and sterile technique
- Placement and maintenance of IV catheters
- Blood collection including jugular, cephalic, and saphenous venipuncture
- Running in-house laboratory diagnostics
- Taking diagnostic radiographs
- Fluid therapy administration and monitoring
- Medication calculation and administration
- Proper restraint and handling of dogs and cats
- Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
- Knowledge of hospitalized patient care and treatment protocols
- Experience assisting in emergency and urgent care cases preferred
Job Duties:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients
- Perform dental cleanings
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Obtain diagnostic samples including blood, urine, and cytology samples
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventative care
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate updates to veterinarians
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and surgical areas
- Assist with inventory and controlled drug logging as needed

Pay range:
$25.00-$32.00
Position starting at $25.00 for entry level RVT. Experienced RVT starting at $28.00. Both will depend on applicant’s experience and qualifications.
