Job Title: Associate Veterinarian
Location: East Market Veterinary Center – Blairsville, PA
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Position Summary
The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to small animal patients (dogs and cats). This role works collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure excellent patient care, client communication, and overall hospital efficiency while supporting the clinic’s mission of compassionate care, a trustworthy team, and hometown values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations, diagnostics, and develop treatment plans for patients
- Provide medical and surgical care in accordance with current veterinary standards
- Educate clients on treatment options, preventative care, and long-term health management
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Make clinical decisions that balance patient care needs with client financial considerations
- Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Eligible for or currently licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Schedule
- Full-time or part-time opportunities available
- Flexible scheduling
- No weekends schedule
Compensation and Benefits

Work Environment

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes with assistance as needed
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform medical and surgical procedures
